Dr Marion Shiner

Marion is a post-doctoral researcher in the Cardiff University School of History, Archaeology and Religion. She is a specialist in late Iron Age, Roman and early medieval funerary practices, with a particular focus on the funerary treatment of infants and children. Marion has worked in commercial archaeology, and also spent fifteen years managing the Historic Environment Record for south-west Wales. She is currently employed on an interdisciplinary research project examining the early medieval origins of the Welsh March. Marion has been a convener of the Early Medieval Wales Archaeology Research Group (EMWARG) since 2015.
