Dr Rebecca Gregory

Becca is a Teaching Associate in the School of English, and Honorary Research Fellow in the Institute for Name-Studies, University of Nottingham. She edits the Journal of the English Place-Name Society and is Hon. Secretary of the Society for Name-Studies in Britain and Ireland. She was previously a Lecturer in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Glasgow.

She specialises in onomastics (name-studies), especially minor place-names, with a particular interest in the Scandinavian influence on naming vocabulary in the East Midlands, and in the evidence field-names can provide for the historic landscape and contemporary perceptions of it.
